Located in the heart of Seneca Falls, the museum's four dioramas and three floors of artifacts show how the canal made Seneca Falls the "fire engine capital of the United States" and the "pump capital of the North & South America." The Museum illustrates how the Seneca River and the Cayuga-Seneca Canal powered the rise of industry and fostered cultural development, helping to spread social reform movements. The Museum's south entrance is on the award-winning Canal harbor. Many of our visitors, arriving by boat, explore hands-on and interactive displays, intriguing exhibits and artifacts, the play-learning children's center.
